Pessac-Léognan is the most recent of the Bordeaux appellations. Soils consisting of river gravel deposits (up to 8 meters deep), left behind by the Garonne River as it changed its course during the Quaternary Era, set on Tertiary limestone subsoil. These stones and pebbles reflect the sun's radiation, increasing the vines' sun exposure and accelerating the ripening of the grapes.

On the nose this wine has pronounced notes of stone fruit like apricot and nectarine, with accents of meyer lemon, sweetgrass and wet gravel. On the palate this has fresh peach, green bell pepper and honeysuckle notes. It finished with a ripe, luscious texture and gently persistent acidity.

Juicy black currants and red berries are masked by the tannins at present, but they will fill out this wine, leaving a fresh, bright character.
