Monte do Carrapatelo

Besides being a super amiable man, Luis Duarte is a living legend among Portuguese winemakers. His track record is nothing short of impressive. As a young winemaker, he learned the trade and earned his stripes at some of Portugal's best wine estates before purchasing his own vineyards in the Alentejo region. Monte do Carrapatelo was founded in 2007. This ideally oriented hill with over 10 hectares of vineyards is cultivated sustainably and with the most modern techniques. The domain quickly grew into one of the references in Alentejo. Each plot and each grape variety receives a personal approach. This has already earned Luis the title of 'Best winemaker of the year' in Portugal three times. His wines are not exclusive gems for the Happy Few, but honest and delicious wines for everyone's wallet.

Martha's Porto

Martha’s is one of the oldest family owned Port Wine wineries, and has been combining tradition with high quality standards across six generations so far. It was the second generation of the family to embark on the decisive adventure of commercializing grapes in the areas of Cambres and São João de Lobrigos from their own vineayard. It was still needed two more generations for Manuel Nogueira, from the generation of that time, to begin the production and selling bulk wine to other wine merchants. Margarida Nogueira de Jesus, the youngest of three children, married Manuel de Almeida Marta, and from this union, the family began to bottle and market Port. The next generations devoted themselves to the business of Port wine, always very attentive to the quality and distinctiveness of the product. The current generations ahead of the company give a more decisive step to consolidate and expand the family business internationally. Since ever, the whole cycle is done within the family, from the growing of grapes, to the winemaking, bottling and commercialization.

Gomariz

In the wine region of Vinho Verde, António Sousa has no equal. The winemaker of Quinta de Gomariz makes his wines in the classic way where a fine point of carbon dioxide gives his Vinho Verde's just that little bit more liveliness and tension. His track record is simply impressive. At the last annual election of the very best Vinho Verde's of that year, organized by the Vinho Verde winegrowing committee, he managed to win no less than 5 of the 13 gold medals after a blind tasting! (And this on an entry from 250 different winegrowers) Whoever speaks about Vinho Verde cannot ignore his person. The winery is located in the Vale do Ave, the heart of the Vinho Verde. The area is delineated by 2 large natural barriers. In the East, the Mountains and in the West, the Atlantic Ocean. In the North and South, 2 rivers determine the border, the Douro and the Minho. Hence the commonly used term “Entre-Douro-e-Minho”. Vinho Verde is not the name of the white wine itself, but it is indeed a designation of origin. In other words, there is also red and even rosé Vinho Verde.
