Winemaker Finca Rodma

Ribera del Duero - Spain

More information about 'Finca Rodma'

Finca Rodma is a young (founded in 2019) and ambitious family project by the Martín Rodríguez family, representing the highest quality standards of the region.

With an iconic neighbor such as Vega Sicilia, to which the vineyards are directly adjacent, the estate benefits from one of the very best terroirs in the region. A diversity of soils located between 650 and 900 meters in altitude provides ideal conditions to produce some of the finest wines of the region—and even of Spain as a whole.

The vineyards are part of what is known in Ribera as “The Golden Mile,” home to the very best soils of the appellation.

The modern finca is centrally located within the vineyards and has been designed and built according to the latest standards, with minimal impact on the environment and climate. Production is carried out using gravity flow, and the estate is fully self-sufficient in its energy consumption.

The style is modern and contemporary, with a clear focus on the fruit and the wine itself. Oak aging adds structure and elegance, but always remains secondary to the character of the wine.

Winemaker Antonio Nieto is fully committed to achieving the highest level of quality.

Winemaking in Ribera del Duero

Ribera del Duero wines are characterized by their deep color, concentrated aromas of red fruit, spices, and vanilla, and a firm tannic structure.

Winemaking often involves extended aging in oak barrels, contributing to the complexity and character of the wines. The region holds the prestigious Denominación de Origen (DO) status, meaning the wines must meet strict regulations and quality standards.

Some wines are even classified as Crianza, Reserva, or Gran Reserva depending on their aging period. Ribera del Duero is home to some of the world’s most celebrated wineries, including Vega Sicilia, Pingus, and Emilio Moro.

Wineries such as Finca Rodma have gained international recognition for their outstanding red wines. A visit to Ribera del Duero offers not only the chance to taste some of the world’s finest wines, but also to explore stunning vineyards and historic estates.

This region remains a stronghold of winemaking excellence and is an essential destination for any wine enthusiast.
