Franz and Christine Netzl, together with their two daughters, Christina & Annemarie, produce wines in the southeast of Austria (Göttlesbrünn in the Carnuntum region).

The terroir of loam, sand, pebbles and gravel, combined with indigenous grape varieties and the family’s expertise, makes these wines a key reference in the region.

From the 2021 vintage onwards, all wines from Weingut Netzl carry a certified organic label.

The climate

Carnuntum is located in the southernmost and warmest wine region of Lower Austria, along the Danube. It is characterized by dry summers and relatively warm autumns, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally. The terroir

Three distinct vineyards: Bärnreiser (Merlot), Aubühel (Cabernet Sauvignon) and Haidäcker (Zweigelt). The soil consists mainly of loam and loess, with red gravel in the top layer.
