The deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by an open-knit, exotic bouquet of spice, incense, flowers, and sweet black cherries and blackberries. Rich and opulent, with ripe tannin, a savory, voluminous mouthfeel, and wonderful finition.

Grilled or roasted meats, such as game, lamb, smoked duck breast and even some hearty tasting cheeses.

climate

Maritime climate, characterised by the close proximity to large bodies of water that moderate their temperatures. Maritime climate is often described as a "middle ground" between two extremes. Often subject to the viticultural hazards of excessive rain and humidity , it has distinct seasonal changes, usually not as drastic, with warm, rather than hot, summers and cool, rather than cold, winters.

soil

One of the most fragmented domaines in the Médoc with as many as 40 separate parcels of vines scattered throughout the Margaux appellation.

vinification

65% Cab Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit verdot. Berries are manually harvested .The winery uses cement fermentation tanks for a slower, more even fermentation. Grapes have a cold soak maceration for 3 – 4 days, then 8 – 12 days alcoholic fermentation up to 28 Celsius. spends 16 months on oak (45% new) and the rest one year old. The wine is aged on lees and racked only every seven months, making for two rackings in total. Maturation on lees makes for a silkier wine. Blending is done at the end of aging, instead of before which is typically the norm.
