LAKU is the result of our effort to create a wine of the highest possible quality and uniqueness. Each year our winery's president, Santiago Achurra, and our winemaker, Benoit Fitte spend three days tasting barrel samples in order to find the very best batches. At the end of these three days only seven of our 3200 barrels are chosen and blended giving birth to LAKU. The blend could be made of any combination of varietals from 3 different valleys. Only 2300 are produced.

climate

Warm temperate climate with a Mediterranean rainfall regime and a wide range between daytime and nighttime temperatures, resulting from the proximity of the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountains. The coastal breezes during the afternoon help to keep summer temperatures moderate.

soil

The terroir where these vines are growing, is characterized by deep, loam-clay soils.

vinification

The blend is a secret, which is only revealed in print on the cork once the wine has been opened.
