The Langhe terroir consists of hilly vineyards with clay and limestone soils, sometimes with sand or marl. The combination of altitude, location, soil, and climate produces wines with elegance, complexity, and ageing potential.
- vinification
-
The Langhe Nebbiolo 1661 is made from a selection of Nebbiolo grapes grown in a northerly location. This is supplemented with a selection of grapes from the younger rows. Harvesting is done manually, and the bunches are selected on a sorting table. Cryomaceration takes place for 24 to 48 hours. Fermentation and maceration then take place in stainless steel, followed by several months of aging in oak barrels.
