Señorío de Beade - Ribeiro (Spain)
This relatively young family estate was founded in 1987 by the Gónzales-Vazquez family. Its name is derived from the village of Beade, located along the Avia River, where the estate is situated. The Ribeiro appellation borders Rías Baixas to the east. The terroir and climate are ideally suited for producing fresh, aromatic white wines from native grape varieties such as Treixadura, Albariño, and Loureira, while excellent red wines are also made from Mencía (the signature grape of Bierzo). The soils have a low clay content and are characterized by sabrego, a granitic sandy soil typical of Ribeiro. The surrounding mountains protect the area from harsh Atlantic weather conditions. The estate is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, while respecting tradition and the true character of the grape varieties. The vineyards are farmed exclusively with organic fertilizers and treatments, in harmony with nature and the surrounding environment.
