Deep, expressive aromas of black plum, chocolate, black olives and dark berries dominate the nose. Subtle hints of cedar, baking spices, vanilla and toasted oak add further complexity. On the palate, the wine immediately delivers on the promise of its aromatic bouquet, revealing youthful power, a balanced structure and a medium body. The finish is long and persistent, supported by noticeable yet fine and elegant tannins.

Fire up the grill! This wine is an outstanding match for flavourful red meat dishes, barbecues, dry-aged ribeye steaks and other rich, hearty meat preparations.

climate

Monterey enjoys a Mediterranean climate with a strong maritime influence, shaped by cooling ocean winds. These conditions encourage slow, even grape ripening while preserving higher natural acidity compared with Paso Robles. The latter has a warmer Mediterranean climate, characterised by hot, dry summers and mild winters, allowing grapes, particularly Chardonnay, to achieve greater ripeness.

soil

The soils of Lodi are renowned for their excellent drainage. Deep, sandy and composed of fine loam, they provide particularly favourable conditions for vine cultivation. Their characteristics also create an environment that is relatively inhospitable to phylloxera, explaining why many vines in the region remain ungrafted and grow on their own roots.

vinification

Grapes from different vineyard parcels are fermented separately to preserve their individual characteristics. The final blend is then carefully crafted to achieve the desired balance and complexity. Extended skin maceration ensures optimal extraction of aromas, colour and structure. Following traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels, with 35% new oak.
