Clear, ruby red color. Rich aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and plums. Lightly spicy undertone with hints of cinnamon and pepper. The 12 months of wood aging enhances that spiciness and adds hints of vanilla and cedar. Beautifully balanced and smooth finish.
The engaging character of Zinfandel pairs perfectly with all kinds of grilled meats, aged cheeses, and other savory dishes.
- climate
-
Lodi enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild but wet winters. The proximity of the Sierra Nevada influences the climate. It provides the necessary cooling, protects the vineyards from strong winds, and ensures a more constant temperature.
- soil
-
The soil of Lodi consists primarily of old alluvial deposits. This rich, diverse soil structure contributes to the complexity and depth of the wines. A variety of soils includes sandy loam, clay loam, and even patches of volcanic soil.
- vinification
-
93% Zinfandel, 7% Syrah. The different vineyards are fermented separately with an average maceration of 12 days on the skins. Subsequently, the ideal blend is created to achieve the most complete style. The wine then ages for several months in oak barrels, 25% of which are new.
