Chateau Cantelaude-Borie - ()
Château Cantelaude-Borie is located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation and belongs to the Borie family, known for the prestigious Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien. Since the acquisition in 2009, the quality of the wines has significantly improved, thanks to the same technical expertise and careful approach that characterizes the family's grand crus. The vineyards rest on classic gravel and clay soils and are planted primarily with Merlot, supplemented with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Petit Verdot. This combination produces wines with a deep ruby color, aromas of ripe black fruit, plums, and blackberries, refined floral notes, and hints of spice and licorice. On the palate, they are full and harmonious, with velvety tannins and a beautiful balance between power and elegance. Château Cantelaude-Borie is an authentic representative of Moulis, combining finesse and structure, and also possessing good ageing potential, making it accessible both when young and developing additional complexity after a few years of maturation.
